reviewers
You're interested in reading some new work you would not have heard about otherwise, reviewing it, linking up with some new "bookworm" friends, and discussing books and publishing stuff. You're tired of wading through reviews in a media owned by the same people publishing the titles. You're sick of boring bookseller sites and social networking sites, all with hundreds of links on every page, but no real communication. This is the place for you.
authors
You're writing, or have written, some work which is reviewed here, or work you would like to be reviewed here. You need an additional free page to increase your "PR value", your Google-factor, or you just need some kind of internet exposure for your fiction, poetry, or intellectual prose. You're tired of websites listing names with no content, or "encyclopedias" that control what you can say about yourself. You want to put the focus on your writing and titles. You're home.
publishers
You're producing a small press/self press fiction, poetry or intellectual non-fiction title, whether a book, audio book, weekly paper, magazine, or blog and you want some exposure for it. You've got an ISBN or ISSN number for your publication, a press release or two to pump it, and with all the expenses of going to print, you won't mind making a "set your price" donation to list each title here. You want the page to look nice, it should have easily found and clicked cross-links to your press releases, website and the online stores, if applicable, and you want to be able to update the page anytime you want. Welcome.
the fine print
We need a unique email address for each account you want to register, but know this -
we hate spam more than you do. Your address is never revealed. Your "author" and "publisher" profiles are indexed by search engines (as you'll want people to find you), but "reviewer" profiles are not. Bookworm friend and "2 degree" information is used to promote connections between us all. Cookies are used to maintain login status, and nothing else.
We would rather not have to host more pages for bestselling books than they already have, as we're looking for work nobody knows about. We will remove spam and offensive content and comments, as well as plagiarized or phony content, and we'll even reserve the right to remove "big house" titles (though they can be reviewed). We'll continue to evolve and refine this website and its policy, and we're looking for people who might want to help edit.
